This year the KWF was approached to contribute towards a Christmas Party for the Bethany and Bethesda Orphanages in Soweto, comprising of over 100 children. The party was arranged and managed by the incredible Patience Daza from the Psychiatric Department at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital who applied for permission to host the party at the Community Hall at Bara.
The KWF provided the Jumping Castles, some refreshment and gifts of clothing and stationery for the children. We were so fortunate to then receive a massive donation from BMW Sandton. A huge thank you to Dean (who nominated the KWF for the BMW Sandton Christmas Present Drive) and to wonderful Stephanie Wills who managed to get hundreds of gifts and stationery items from the dealership and its clients. Also thanks to Joanna Milne who donated over 100 ‘Little Peeps’ hand-made dolls.
What a magnificent group effort to make it a special day for the children. Thank you so much everyone involved, especially Patience for all her hard work and determination in providing a memorable occasion for those who don’t usually have this opportunity.
