Itlokomeleng Home for the Aged in 2022

In January 2022 we celebrated the 90th birthday of the home’s founder – Dr Marjorie Manganye – but known as Granny Marj to us.  This glamorous granny continues to participate in the management of the home and in assisting the aged in the community of Alex.  She is quite remarkable!

Our chairman, Gavin Varejes, supplied a large chest freezer for the home so that soup and other perishables could be stored for the over 100 residents at Itlokomeleng.  The KWF continues to support by providing 100 loaves of bread every week for the home, donated by The Spar Group/Aeroton Bakery.  Our volunteers also make soup regularly from home and supply in large containers for the freezer.

In December 2022 the KWF donated new pillow cases for all of the residents.
